As one of its main objectives, Sunshine Coast FC has identified talented Sunshine Coast football players who are committed to a future career as professional football players. The club will seek to develop these elite male and female players to a standard, which will make them attractive as playing staff for A-league and international professional football leagues.

On occasions, Sunshine Coast FC will also seek to identify a limited number of quality foreign players to include in its playing squads. These players will be engaged to provide local players with exposure to the skills of quality experienced players with varied international playing techniques.
